This is our physical archive, a collection of sculptural props, objects, paintings, video, text, sound and photographs.
These sculptural pieces carry handheld knowledge. They have been imbued by many hands, used in public activations and displayed in galleries. Each work explores the ‘object’ as both work of art and as artefact. In this sense, the word ‘documents’ is on the one hand, the object in itself; on the other, it is how the object can be made to speak to us. It is the object re-appropriated, in disguise, speaking from another time. It tells us new things about an old world. It makes us think differently – sensing how handheld processes can shape our culture.
